Our Story

“Let’s leave this place more beautiful than we found it!”

In 2008, Jessica moved from Los Angeles to the Esalen Institute to study permaculture and work in their farm and garden. She immersed herself in new paradigm models that both honored ancient land-based practices, deep ecology and human potential. One of the many beautiful people she learned from in those years was a flower farmer.

Jessica was on the board of a seed library and traveled the country learning from and gathering with many of the leaders in the seed saving world. In the many locations she lived before settling in her homeland in the Hudson Valley, NY she always grew flowers. In 2015, she started Peace of Wild as a vision to grow flowers and pollinator habitats. Over the course of 10 years, Peace of Wild grew from a tiny seed of a vision into a flower farm and floral design studio nestled between the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley growing flowers for weddings and other special events. The farm closed shop with the pandemic as it could not grow at the scale necessary for a profitable business and still remain small.

Jessica currently grows on a small scale, integrated with livestock and creates educational designs and other resources for biodynamic gardening. So much of growing a garden is about the actual growing process and the healing it brings to the mind, body and spirit. Any small garden is a sanctuary of healing.
