“Let’s leave this place more beautiful than we found it!”

My intention when I started Peace of Wild 10 years ago was to grow flowers. We over the course of a few years we grew into a small floral design studio nestled between the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley growing flowers for weddings and other special events. We closed shop after the pandemic and losing a wedding season greatly impacted our small business. But Peace of Wild continued on her journey. Our journey with flowers began with the seed. So we got very small again. As all cycles do. Jessica was on the board of a seed library and traveled the country learning from and gathering with many of the leaders in the seed saving world. She spent 7 years growing flowers for cut flower production but learned very quickly that she could not grow to the scale necessary for a profitable business. She is currently starting another cut flower garden on her new property but this time even smaller than ever because she is just focusing on the practice of growing flowers, slowing down, learning, saving seed and sharing resources and helping others to do what brings them joy. So much of growing a garden is about sharing. Or there is no joy in just a profit driven model. Which is the heart of this work for her. Any small garden can become a sanctuary for life, a space for wellness, beauty, abundance and healing and most importantly a space and a connection to being in relationship with the heart of nature.
